Community Involvement
Lifetime Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric strives to help others locally and as far away as Rwanda to experience a better life. Every client who invests in new equipment with Lifetime Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electric receives a custom, handmade basket from a woman in Rwanda.
Local women in Kigali, Rwanda, handwove these baskets using straw and grass that are hand dyed and treated. The women sell these works of art in local villages to provide for their families. Previously these women were working in prostitution but received training and support by a local outreach program, known as Hagari Ministries.
Hagari Rwanda is a ministry to women in prostitution and their children. Through the love of Christ, at Hagari they seek to restore the lives of women who have worked in prostitution and to discontinue the cycle within the family. In Rwanda, most of these women are not able to afford the cost of school for their children; therefore the children often find themselves following in the footsteps of their mothers. In order to break the cycle of poverty and prostitution, Hagari offers a sponsorship program called The Freedom Fund.
Much of what Hagari does falls under the sponsorship program, The Freedom Fund. Hagari relies on the local government to identify women who are or have been in prostitution, and whose children are in desperate need of sponsorship.
When a child is taken into the sponsorship program, he or she is enrolled at a local Christian school called Arise and Shine. If this is not ideal, or they have already finished primary school, they find another school to attend until they finish. The child is given all materials needed for school and school uniforms, all children in the household and one caregiver are given health insurance, and lunch is provided on school days.
Primary school-aged children are tutored at least twice a week, and they have a weekly bible study for the children who are sponsored. A vital part of Hagari's ministry to the women and the children are home visits. Each family is visited regularly so they may connect on a deeper level with the family. In addition, they hold a Bible study every other week, which is open to anyone.
An area that these families live in is Busanza, which is still rather undeveloped and sanitation is very poor. Often, more than five families use one outhouse, usually in terrible condition. Over the last two and a half years, Hagari has worked with the community to build fifteen toilets. Since most women have little to no education, it is very difficult for them to find any job. Therefore, Hagari also develops income-generating projects and job creation for the women who desire to leave prostitution.
Community Involvement
Rooted in Service. Driven by Compassion. Powered by Community.
At Lifetime Heating & Cooling, community isn’t just one of our core values—it’s the heart of everything we do. From our early days operating out of an old Astro Van, we believed that if we focused on the things that matter most—integrity, compassion, and service—we’d always have enough to share. Today, that belief continues to guide every step we take, in every home we visit and in every life we touch.
Why We Give Back
We believe our business exists for a bigger purpose than simply providing heating and cooling. We’re here to make a real, lasting impact on the lives of others. That’s why we’ve built a company culture where giving back isn’t just encouraged—it’s expected.
Whether it's stepping in when someone’s HVAC system fails and finances are tight, or rallying our team and community partners to restore a home suffering from mold and poor ventilation, we act because it’s the right thing to do.
We’ve installed systems at no charge for veterans, single parents, and families in medical crisis. We’ve upgraded homes to be safer, healthier, and more efficient. These aren’t just projects to us—they’re stories of hope, relief, and renewed dignity.
The Hands and Feet of the Mission
Much of our community work starts with our team. They are the ones who hear the needs—when customers call with concern, or when a colleague mentions someone going through a hard time. Our team members send flowers, drop off meals, and even deliver cancer care packages to customers fighting tough battles. Giving back is second nature here—it’s just part of who we are.
“Pay What You Can” Repairs
One of our most cherished traditions is our annual “Pay What You Can” initiative each December. Born during the challenges of the COVID era, this program helps ensure no family is left in the cold. For the entire month, we offer diagnostics and repairs to anyone in need—no questions asked. If someone can’t pay, we cover the cost. Others in our community have even joined in, paying it forward for their neighbors.
Supporting Local, Together
We love this community and we love local. That’s why we’re always looking for fun and meaningful ways to support small businesses and lift up others around us. Some of our favorite recent initiatives include:
- Pi Day Pie Deliveries from Snohomish Pie Company
- Gift Card Hunts for local spots like Top It Frozen Yogurt
- Ongoing Partnerships with businesses like Nordic Home Solutions, Direct Carpet Cleaning, PureDry, and more
- Celebrating at Trails End with team lunches, meetings, and milestones
- Trade School Scholarships & School Visits to inspire the next generation of trades professionals
- Sponsoring Parades, Sports Teams, and Fundraisers for programs like Awanas and the local Fire Department
We’re also honored to work with community hubs like The Oxford, which supported us in the early days by opening up their space for our company meetings.
Looking Ahead
We’re constantly asking, *“How can we do more?”*In fact, we recently surveyed our team to find new causes they care about—and the response was overwhelming. As a result, we’re planning to expand our support to include:
- Toys for Tots
- Children’s Hospital donations
- Warm Coats drives
- Community Clean-Up efforts
- Continued food bank support (our first food drive was a success!)
We’re also excited to be part of a very special restoration project at the Historic Concrete Schoolhouse in Concrete, WA—check out our Facebook page to follow our progress there!
It’s About Relationships
Ultimately, we’ve never been in this just to run a business. We’re here to build relationships. The friendships we’ve formed with our customers and neighbors have truly shaped the soul of Lifetime. We keep a growing list at our office of the people who have impacted our journey—and we’re proud to say, that list gets longer every day.
Thank you for letting us serve this community. We’re just getting started—and we can’t wait to grow together.
